Piyards (piyards.com) is a real-estate marketplace that connects property owners, buyers, and agents. We are committed to handling your personal information responsibly and transparently.

2. Information we collect

Account information — username, email address, display name, and password (stored as a secure hash).
Phone number — collected optionally for contact and identity verification purposes via Google Cloud phone verification.
Profile details — bio, display name, and notification preferences you choose to provide.
Property listings — address, description, photos, and related details you submit.
Messages & interests — communications you send through the platform between buyers and sellers.
Usage data — page visits and feature interactions for improving the service (no third-party analytics trackers).
Location data — approximate coordinates used only to rank nearby listings; never stored permanently.

3. How we use your information

To provide, operate, and improve the Piyards marketplace.
To verify your identity and prevent fraud via phone/email verification.
To send proximity-based property notifications (only when you enable this feature).
To facilitate communication between buyers, sellers, and agents.
To enforce our terms of service and maintain platform safety.

4. We never sell or share your data

Your phone numbers, email addresses, and any other personal information are never sold, rented, or shared with any third party outside of Piyards — not for advertising, not for analytics, not for any other commercial purpose. The only exceptions are:

With your explicit consent — e.g. when you choose to make your phone number visible to other users on a listing.
Legal obligation — if required by a valid court order or applicable law.
Service providers — infrastructure providers (hosting, database) who process data solely on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements and are not permitted to use it for any other purpose.

5. Phone verification (Google Cloud)

We use Google Cloud identity services to verify phone numbers. When you provide your phone number for verification, it is transmitted to Google's APIs solely for the purpose of sending a one-time verification code. Google's handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. Piyards does not retain your phone number beyond what is necessary for account functionality, and it is never used for marketing or shared with advertisers.

6. Data retention

Your account data is retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. Anonymised usage statistics may be retained indefinitely.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed password storage, and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we encourage you to use a strong, unique password.

8. Your rights

Access, correct, or delete your personal data.
Opt out of optional data collection (e.g. proximity notifications).
Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
